Ernest Hemingway, (1899-1961) was one of the greatest authors of his generation. He started as a newspaper reporter. He was stationed in Europe and covered several conflicts. He lived in Paris and became part of the American expatriate circle known as the "Lost Generation" which formed the basis of his 1926 novel, "The Sun Also Rises".
